Nature's Nature

Nature's Nature

Dry
And wry
Is the earth,
Ready to
Fry
Anything
That may chance
On her.

Try
The mortals
However much
To quench her
Seedlings thirst,

Cry
They as the babe
For
Their mother
Nature's bounteous
Rain!

The first impression I got off of reading the poem "Nature's Nature" by Chandra Thiagarajan was outdoorsy, and depressing. These words show that are earth and nature is slowly dying. The evocative language in this poem is dry, mortals, quench, cry, and rain. TO me these words show that the earth is drying out and us humans are doing this to it. The figurative comparison "And is why is the earth", "cry they as the babe", and "to quench her seedling thirst". All of these lines are how the earth is drying out. There was no structure. The big idea I got from the poem "Nature's Nature" is that nature and earth needs to be taken care of better.
